Imaginary Animals

I carried out a research project towards the treatment and coloring of wood. I decided to focus on natural pigments of fruits and herbs. For this a lot of experimentation was needed. I wanted to see if it is possible to just use natural materials instead of petroleum based paint.

The pink, orange and yellow pigments worked best. They gave the most intense colors. I decided to turn the outcome of this research into a kids toy, because kids play a lot with

mass produced petroleum based toys.

I made a puzzle according to the color scheme of the animals. The puzzles are abstract in order to allow imagination for  children.
